John has been serving as the Director, Region VI of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators since 2013, and a member since 2002.

He has served with the Bureau of ATF for 19 years since his retirement from active duty and has been involved in planning and coordination of Bomb Management Centers supporting National Security Special Events ranging from Super Bowls to Democratic and Republican conventions nationwide. John has also been involved with Explosive Training efforts of his agency and is currently assigned to the National Center for Explosives, Training and Research in Huntsville, AL., and is stationed in Marietta, GA.

Currently he is the Program Manager for Raven’s Challenge, an ATF led Department of the Army funded exercise designed to enhance Inter-Operability between Military Explosive Ordnance Disposal personnel, and Public Safety Bomb Technicians.

John served twenty-two years in the U.S Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal field and retired after serving in various EOD positions around the world and is a graduate of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School, (Phases I-III) Indianhead, MD (1979), US Army Chemical School (1985) the British Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Course (1993), and is a graduate of multiple professional development courses, both military and civilian.  John holds an Associate’s Degree in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Associate’s degree in Real Estate Management and a Certificate in Fire Sciences.

His hobbies include rare coin collecting and is an avid deer, turkey and wild boar hunter.  John is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Georgia and is a PADI certified Master Scuba Diver.
